You can be damaged by the balls of fire themselves as well as the lightning that will strike between two flames after a second. These, like the real life weather phenomena mostly show up on the ends of masts. There is also a new environmental hazard in this area, wandering balls of Saint Elmo’s Fire. You can figure out where these guys are before they coalesce by the placement of their helmets on the ground. The third and final new enemies are re-spawning conquistadors made out of some sort of slime. Their anchors are thrown in an arc rather than a straight line and can do a sizable chunk of damage. These guys have the same move-set as the Minotaurs in the Mountains of the Endless dusk, with the exception of their projectile. These women shoot out homing lighting projectiles, so if you see one it’s best to stay moving. First are the ship figure head women with a small flame of Saint Elmo’s fire lit on their bowsprits. This makes a certain amount of sense, the enemies in Mourning and Havoc are incredibly tough so locking it behind Esdras and the Mother of Mothers prevents players from getting there too early. There is an entrance to Havoc and Mourning there but it’s a shortcut back you unlock from the other side.
